Description: USIBAIP (Pty) Ltd has submitted an application for a mining permit (DMRE Ref. no. 30/5/1/3/2/10701 MP) of an area of 5 ha for the mining of sand, building sand, and stone aggregate and gravel on the Remainder of the farm Draaibosch 45, in the magisterial district of Komga, Great Kei Local Municipality, Eastern Cape (32°35’44.00″S 27°46’7.00″E), in terms of Section 27 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, Act. 28 of 2002. An Environmental Authorisation (EA) will be required as the proposed project includes activities listed in Government Notices (GN 324, GN 325 and GN 327) promulgated in terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (2014), as amended (2017), of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA), Act 107 of 1998. These Listed Activities are 21 and 27 of Listing Notice 1 (GN 327).
